Biography:
Dr. Hongyoung Jeon is a Research Agricultural Engineer with the USDA-ARS Application Technology Research Unit (ATRU) in Wooster, OH. Dr. Jeon's research interests include machine vision applications, variable rate applications, pesticide applications, instruments and sensors and agricultural robots/automations. His current research is a stereo vision based variable rate sprayer for specialty crops which make spray decisions after analyzing image data from the stereo vision in real time. A prototype sprayer has been developed, and his current focus is to develop algorithms to translate data to knowledge for crop protection product applications.
